“The hours between 12am and 6am have a funny habit of making you feel like you’re either on top of the world…or under it.” Quote by Beau Taplin. Sketch from my sketchbook, with digital filters and extra bonus digital pasties…
Sorry that I’ve been MIA… The last few months have brought a lot of changes, so I’ve been extra busy and trying to adjust. I recently got hired to be part of an art team in addition to all the other things going on! I’ll save that story for another post…
For the last three weeks, I’ve been dealing with the flu and pneumonia, so I haven’t been doing any work. Watched plenty of Dr. Who though… 😉 Just picked up my sketchbook again the other day… Here’s one of the sketches I managed. It’s colored pencil, marker, and gel pens. Hope you like it! Looking forward to painting next week!!!
A Halloween candy inspired drawing! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

It will totally make my day.  (^▽^)
Just a little sketch from my sketchbook. This one was Herakut-inspired. They are an awesome German street art duo. I love looking at their work.
There is a song that I have been drawing animations for, in my head, for months! Â I want to tackle animating it soon, but I need more practice first. Above is my second attempt at hand drawn animation using a stop motion animation app on my phone. I only had time to complete the first verse of the song so far, but I like how it turned out, considering I’m just learning – and there is a lot to learn! I think I’ll keep working on it.
The song is The Kite Song, by Rosie Thomas. It’s really lovely! I highly recommend purchasing it! 🙂
Oh, tie me to the end of a kite
So I can go on, I can go on with my life
And every marigold IÂ pass below will be my guiding light
I just want to go away from here
Oh, tie me to the end of a kite
So I can go and I can go on with my life
And every time the wind blows stronger I will feel my spirit rise
I just want to go away from here
Oh, tie me ever tightly by your side
So I may go with you wherever you reside
And anytime the road looks dimmer I will be your guiding light
I just want to go away with you
I just want to go away with you
Hope you enjoy this Edward Gorey inspired cat from my sketchbook. Happy Saturday!
Trouble in mind, I’m blue
But IÂ won’t be blue always,
’cause the sun’s gonna shine
In my backdoor some day.
I’m all alone at midnight
And my lamp is burnin’ low
Ain’t never had so much
Trouble in my life before.
Trouble in mind, that’s true
I have almost lost my mind,
Life ain’t worth livin,
Sometimes IÂ feel like dyin’.
Goin’ down to the river
Gonna take my ol’ rockin’ chair
And if the blues don’t leave me
I’ll rock away from there.
I listened to the Nina Simone version of Trouble in Mind while painting this…

Life without art, life without love …is nothing. Â Another collaborative sketch between me and Scottish artist Sean Fleming, done while I was traveling. This one I’m now adding color to and will post another pic when it’s done. Â I love the push and pull of working together on a piece. Looking forward to doing more.
I just got back from a heart warming journey to Scotland. I spent a whole week with my best friend, drawing, painting, visiting galleries and exploring the land.  We originally met through an online art group. It’s amazing what can happen in two years, even with 6000 miles in between. And even more so, considering these terrible iPad portraits I did of him, before we ever exchanged words… Haha 😛 Thankfully, I’ve done more flattering work since…
Life in the WIld is a collaborative sketch that we worked on while I was visiting. I altered the color digitally, it was graphite… I’ll post some more of our collaborative work and perhaps a photo or two later this week…
